Meet Dr. Melissa BrownDr. Melissa Lent Brown is a native Houstonian and graduate of St. John’s School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Austin and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society as well as the Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the Houston Academy of General Dentistry. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Texas AGD and has served in multiple leadership positions at the local and national levels as well. In 2014, Dr. Brown received the New Dentist of the Year Award, an honor given by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Brown has completed the core curriculum of The Dawson Academy, a 160-hour continuing education continuum that focuses on comprehensive patient care, including functional and cosmetic treatment. As the result of her dedication to continuing education and life-long learning, Dr. Brown received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July of 2016. Outside of the office, Dr. Brown volunteers in the dental clinic at the Brookwood Community and has traveled to Guatemala with Faith in Practice to provide dental care to patients without access to care. She and her husband, Guy, live in the Memorial area and have two young daughters, Margaret and Mary Kate. The family enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with their black lab, Maggie. |
